ABOUT POKE

Ahi Poke is a staple in Hawaii's food culture. Before  contact with the outside world, Poke was most likely a mixture of raw Ahi tuna, Inamona (toasted/ground Kukui & Candlenut), Hawaiian salt & Ogo (red/brown seaweed). Today's Poke is a fusion of influences from Japanese, Fillipino, Korean & Chinese cuisine. The addition of Sesame oil, onions, red chili, soy sauce & ginger adds exotic flavor to the dish.
